NCAA FB, Terps

The University of Maryland is expected to announce Army’s Kevin Anderson as their new Director of Athletics.   Anderson had been Army’s AD since 2004, and he brings a slew of credentials with him.  In five years as Army’s athletics leader he helped the academy raise it’s NCAA participation to 20 teams, and oversaw Army’s first National Championship in over 50 years.

UConn’s Jeff Hathaway withdrew his name from consideration yesterday.  Hathaway, considered by many to be one of the nation’s top AD’s, is a University of Maryland alum, and was considered the top candidate for the job.   University of Buffalo AD Warde Manuel was also a finalist for the job.
